"Talos - the defender of Crete" is one of the winners of "Jason and the Argonauts - A Cinematic Reinvention" competition. I received a wonderful gift from WETA Workshop - a copy of "The Crafting of Narnia" signed by the filmmaking guru Richard Tailor and very talented artists Paul Tobin and Daniel Falconier. Thanks for the inspiration guys!

"Whangarei got it's first stormwater drain plaques this week at the Town Basin marina. The plaques read “ONLY RAIN DOWN THE DRAIN. KEEP OUR WATERWAYS CLEAN”. They have been developed by the Mountains to Sea Conservation trust as part of their “Drains to Harbour” (DTH) programme that works with schools and the community to raise awareness around the connection between stormwater and the Whangarei harbour. 220 of the plaques were made and will be appearing around the district over the next few months. Similar plaques have already been implemented around other regions of New Zealand such as Taupo and Hamilton."

The film opens in October 1944, in the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp. A small group of Sonderkommandos are plotting an insurrection that, they hope, will destroy at least one of the camp's four crematoria and gas chambers
A 90 percent scale "model" of the Birkenau camp was built near Sofia, Bulgaria.

"Teens Workshop – just over 40 teenagers attended the 2 concept art workshops which were held in the May Bain Room under the expert guidance of Svetoslav Mateev from the Graphics and Publishing Team. The second workshop was held on July 10 which was the day of the storm and still managed to attract a good number of teens"

These are the kids with the best paintings in the workshop. I decided to make them happy with a little gift, because they worked really passionately. I retouched a bit and put color over their drawings. Then printed them on a nice glossy paper. The kids were just amazed :))))Grant Beran (my good friend since then) for The Northern Advocate
